Borrowing elements from Yoga, Pilates, and floor barre, this warm up will focus on strength, stretching, breath, and mind set. A great warm up for a dance class or a super way to start any day.
Lisa Smith is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Theatre and Dance at UTEP where she directs the Dance Program. At UTEP she teaches a wide variety of courses including Ballet, Performance, Dance Appreciation, Pedagogy, World Dance, and Dances of Mexico and Spain. Lisa danced as a soloist with several companies here and abroad and her performing credits include many classical roles, as well as parts in contemporary works by a variety of choreographers including Bill Evans, David Parsons, and Septime Webre. She has produced many workshops, master classes, and academic presentations throughout her career, and she has choreographed over forty works in a variety of genres for productions ranging from opera, to classical ballets, to musical theatre productions, and children’s dance programs. Lisa is a passionate believer in Dance and arts education as transformative powers for making meaning and community in our world.
