Artist’s Statement: Beautiful Fruit is about the journey of finding one’s truest self. Self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love are the stages to freeing yourself of misconceptions of who you thought you were. Becoming your truest self is where true beauty lies. “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness” Galatians 5:22
A trained dancer for ten plus years and a native of Atlanta, Georgia, De’Aira McCrory has spent the majority of her dance career training in various dance styles.She had the privilege to train with Alabama State University BFA Dance program for two years and is now finishing up her college dance career as a Dance Major at the University of Georgia. De’Aira has appeared dancing on BET tv-show, American Soul and is a member of Beta Phi Alpha Dance Honor Society. Her passion lives within anything dance related. When she isn’t running Studio D Dance Camp in the summer she is coaching at local high schools and dance studios in Athens, Georgia during the school year. Most recently De’Aira has been experimenting with choreography and screen dance with the aspirations of becoming a Creative Director in the near future.
