Artist’s Statement: Apophenia refers to the human tendency to see patterns and meaning in random information. The work is an exploration of banality in an era of groupthink.

Amanda Sowerby serves as the Associate Dean of Weber State University’s Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities and is a Professor of Dance. She performed in the Bay Area with the Gary Palmer Dance Co., Todd Courage, and Enrico Labayen. Amanda was co-founder and President of Paradigm Dance Project; a Salt Lake City-based umbrella organization providing outreach and performance opportunities to Northern Utah communities. Amanda has served on the Utah Dance Education Organization board as President and as the Higher Education Representative.
