In this class, we will work through somatics and improvisation scores and tasks to investigate our own borders-la frontera. Used in the context of Gloria Anzaldua’s, the borderland becomes a metaphor for the ambiguity, fluidity, complexity of physical and virtual barriers, edges, and lands we cross in our everyday life. We will play with ideas of multiple centers, re-orienting our self around our own or someone else’s center. This class will ultimately guide the participants to better understand the ecology of the crossroad between the multiple I within the self and outside of the self.
